(STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.) – The Valle Catholic Warriors won a dramatic baseball game against the West County Bulldogs Wednesday by a score of 6-5 on KREI. West County scored first with a big drive from shortstop Luke Gaia.

Valle had an answer in the third inning, but West County immediately took the lead back. Trailing 5-2 in the sixth inning, the Warriors poured in four runs, with the biggest hit coming from outfielder Owen Viox.

Kellen Blum earned the victory, pitching all seven innings for Valle Catholic. Warriors coach Nathan Gegg said his team missed some plays, but they never gave up.

Valle Catholic moves to 16-3-1 overall and 2-1 in MAAA Small School conference play. West County falls to 12-4 and 2-1 in the conference. Both teams are scheduled to play Thursday, with West County hosting Arcadia Valley and Valle Catholic visiting Valley of Caledonia.
