(Cuba) The Missouri Department of Conservation has awarded $438,615 to Missouri communities through its Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance grant program.

Also known as TRIM grants, they offer cost-share funding for government agencies, schools and nonprofit groups to manage, improve or conserve trees on public lands.

38 grants were awarded this year which includes the group Viva Cuba who gets 10-thousand dollars for removal, education and planting projects in the city of Cuba in Crawford County.
