Voters decide a number of Republican contested races for Jefferson County Council

(Jefferson County) The Jefferson County Council will have a few new faces after the results of Tuesday’s election.

One of the new members will be Scott Seek in District 5. Seek won his election with 1,380 votes over Bobby Kaye who had 1,297 votes followed by Tony Pousosa with 888.

Seek says he would like to see continued improvements with the Herculaneum Port, as well as county tourism.

Seek will likely be appointed to the council as soon as next week as that seat is currently vacant after Tracey Perry resigned earlier this year.

Brian Haskins will serve another term in Jefferson County Council District 1 as he received 1,346 votes, Kenneth Merril was second with 1,285 votes.

In District 3, Shannon Otto defeated incumbent Phil Hendrickson 1,391 to 1,339.

In District 7, the winner was Bob Tullock with 2,060 votes, Linda Schroeder was second with 1,078, and current office holder Vicky James had 1,000 votes.
