Washington County Fair in Potosi Starts in Less than a Week

(Potosi) Activities at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Potosi kick into full speed on Wednesday the 3rd.

It’s the 74th annual fair with this year’s theme “Summer Nights and Midway Lights.”

Kris Richards is a member of the fair board. He tells us about opening day.

Admission is only 7 dollars Wednesday and the talent show will get underway at 7 that night.

Richards says Thursday will be a huge day for students who are participating in the fair.

The livestock auction will get underway at 6:30 with another 7 dollar admission fee for Thursday.

The Washington County Fair in Potosi will continue next Friday featuring the great classic rock music from the band Missouri starting at 9 that night.

Medallion will open for Missouri at 7.

Kiddies Day for the carnival rides is next Saturday from 10 until 3 where unlimited ride wrist bands cost only 10 dollars.

Prizes will be given to some of the kids too at 3.

The fairgrounds in Potosi will then close for a couple hours and reopen next Saturday evening at 5.

That evening will feature more live music with Bobby D taking the stage at 7 and Jarrod Turner at 9 next Saturday night.

Tickets to the fair next Friday and Saturday are 10-dollars each.
