Washington County Jury Says Potosi Prison Inmate is Guilty For Making Shiv

(Potosi) An inmate from the Potosi Correctional Center will spend even more time in prison after he was found guilty Wednesday by a Washington County jury of committing the Class B felony of possessing a sharpened metal prison-made weapon in a state prison.

A news release from the Washington County Prosecuting Attorney’s office says after hearing evidence and argument from Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Caleb Aponte and Prosecutor John Jones IV, the jury deliberated for only 11 minutes before they returned to the courtroom with their guilty verdict against 29-year-old Javontea Jones.

Jones will receive his sentence on October 23rd.
