A man from Washington County is being charged after a March incident that saw him attempt to steal a truck.

According to the Daily Journal, 33-year old Brandon Jarvis of Belgrade is looking at charges of first-degree tampering, felony possession of a controlled substance, plus fourth degree assault.

This comes after Jarvis went to a residence on Lawrence Street in the early morning hours on March 16th and attempted to steal a truck.

A male neighbor of the truck’s owner called the police to report the crime in progress, then went outside to confront Jarvis himself.

Jarvis tried to punch the man but missed, and then the man struck Jarvis in the head.

Jarvis left the scene before police arrived.

Later however, police tracked Jarvis to a gas station in Potosi, and found a crystal-like substance on the floor of the bathroom where Jarvis had been.

Testing has confirmed that the substance was indeed methamphetamine.

There is a warrant out for Jarvis’ arrest as of last Thursday, with bond set at $25,000.
