Washington State Park remembers African-American civilian company during Black History Month

Washington State Park in DeSoto will celebrate Black History Month by looking back on its own piece of African-American history.

Park manager Sharon Hultberg says they will celebrate CCC 1743 on February 8th.

The event will begin with an open house.

Then, guests will embark on the 1,000-Step Trail and experience where the company walked in the park.

The celebration of CCC 1743 begins with the open house at 10 in the morning on Saturday, February 8th at the Interpretive Center.
Washington State Park is located on State Highway 104 in DeSoto.
