Watch for deer on the roads and highways

This is the time of the year in which the deer are the most active, as the rut season is here and deer hunting season is here as well. Vehicle accidents involving deer become more common in the month of November. Corporal Logan Bolton with the Missouri State Highway Patrol has some things for drivers to keep in mind.

Missouri has crept up a notch in state rankings for deer collisions. According to a report from State Farm Insurance, the Show-Me State now ranks 14th in the country for potential animal collisions, up from number 15 last year, with a 1 in 74 chance of hitting an animal while driving.
