(Hillsboro) The firearms portion of deer hunting season has begun, and with the animals being as active as they are with the annual rut, vehicle strikes are all too common. Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak says members of law enforcement and emergency responders are always at risk for striking deer on the county roadways.

Sheriff Marshak says the department always reminds the deputies to be vigilant.

Sheriff Marshak says a few county vehicles have had deer strikes already this fall. A DeSoto man was injured in an accident involving a deer strike on Wednesday.
