Welk Sparks Perryville Offense, Earns Boys Soccer Dream Team Spot

(PERRYVILLE, Mo.) – When the Perryville Pirates boys soccer team lost key players from last year’s group, midfielder Austin Welk stepped up as the team’s leader in the attack and earned himself a spot on the Regional Radio Dream Team. Welk finished with 16 goals and 12 assists and earned first-team all-conference honors. Welk said he tried to do whatever he could to help his squad this year.
But Welk said the support came from a lot of other players as well.
After a 13-11 overall record for the team this season, Welk said he still has unfinished business left for his senior year.
Welk currently has 28 goals and 20 assists for his career at Perryville.
