(ST. LOUIS) – The West County Bulldogs are one win away from a trip to the Class 3 baseball final four after defeating the Hancock Tigers 6-1 Tuesday afternoon on KREI.

It was scoreless until West County’s Ty Simily came up with a big hit in the third inning.

That highlighted a three-run inning for the Bulldogs. They added to their lead in the fifth.

Bulldogs head coach John Simily said his team is doing the little things to get victories.

West County will play in the state quarterfinals for the third time in four seasons. They will face the Malden Green Wave Wednesday at West County High School. Pregame coverage begins at 4:15 p.m. on AM-800 KREI.
