West County And Arcadia Valley Girls Teams Battle For MAAA Supremacy Monday On J-98

(IRONTON, Mo.) – An MAAA Conference title is on the line Monday night in girls basketball as West County travels to Arcadia Valley for a big game on J-98.

With a win, AV would clinch first place in the Small Schools Division, while West County would enter the driver’s seat with a game still to be played at Valle Catholic on Wednesday.

A year ago, it was West County going perfect in conference play, and handing AV their only division loss en route to capturing the conference crown.

As first year Lady Bulldogs head coach Bobby Simily looks at Monday’s matchup, he’s very aware of junior Gracee Smith on the side of Arcadia Valley.

She averages 26 points per game.

On the side of AV, they too have a first year head coach in Kristen Williams.

She says her Lady Tigers are excited for the prospect of winning a conference title on their home floor.

Coach Williams is also complimentary of West County junior Dori McRaven, who is listed as a forward but can play like a guard too.

West County has an overall record of 14-3, plus they’re 3-0 in conference play.

For Arcadia Valley, the record is 11-6 and 4-0 in conference.

The girls basketball conference title in the MAAA Small Schools Division hangs in the balance Monday evening as West County visits Arcadia Valley.
