West County and St. Pius Girls C3D3 Title Game on J-98

(Frankclay) The top two seeds, 6th ranked West County and 8th ranked St. Pius advanced to the Class Three District 3 title game with semifinal wins Thursday night on J-98.

West County beat Jefferson for the second time this season with a convincing 55-17 win. The Bulldogs ran out early and built a 34-7 margin by the half. Lilly James provided scoring with 15 points including three threes. She hit one to close the first quarter and another to open the second…

West County improves to 21-5 on the season. Jefferson closes the year at 14-14 after going 4-22 last year.

In the second and final game of the day, St. Pius used a 22-1 run to pull away from Grandview in a 50-35 win. The Lancers were led by 18 points from Bridget Flanagan.

After the game, St. Pius head coach Aaron Portell broke down the adjustments his team was able to make.

Grandview head coach Tim Winkler shared the emotional message he had for his players in the locker room.

Grandview ends their season at 14-14. St. Pius improves to 23-3 and will take on West County in Saturday’s title game.
