West County Baseball Using Offseason to Work Towards Ultimate Goal
The West County Bulldogs are coming off a season that saw them win their Class 3 District 3 Championship, defeat Valley Park in their sectional game in eight innings, before losing their quarterfinal matchup to Portageville 8-4 which ended their season. It’s a season Manager Bobby Simily looks to build off of.
Among those returning are two seniors, first baseman Carter Reid and outfielder and pitcher Lance Monroe. West County is also fresh off their fall season, one that saw them finish at 16-2, including ending their season by winning the West County Classic. For Simily, the six month offseason was one that involved more time in the cages and getting his guys ready for an important season.
West County opened their season last weekend by participating in the Potosi Jamboree. They begin non tournament play March 21st when the Bulldogs play hosts to the North County Raiders.
