West County Celebrating Red Ribbon Week This Week

(Leadwood) Red Ribbon Week is set to take place next week. The West County School District is actually celebrating with a number of events and activities this week. Laura Basler is the principal at the elementary school. She says you can’t underestimate the importance of Red Ribbon Week.

West County is celebrating Red Ribbon Week this week because of conflicts with Parent/Teacher Conferences next week. Red Ribbon Week began after the kidnapping, torture and murder of a DEA agent in 1985. It’s goal is to teach children about the importance of leading a drug free life.
