The West County Bulldogs are Class 1, District 6 champions after a 4-3 victory Wednesday over the Valle Catholic Warriors on AM 800 KREI. Tied 1-1 in the bottom of the third, West County clean-up hitter Allee Drennen gave her team the lead with the second of two RBI.

After an Ivy Meinershagen RBI double in the bottom of the fourth, freshman Dori McRaven gave her team the insurance run with her own RBI two-baser.

Valle Catholic made a late surge in the top of the seventh, loading the bases with zero outs. Senior first baseman Olivia Meyer inched the Warriors to a one run game.

However, Meinershagen had too much power for the Warriors.

West County head coach C.J. Wright says it wasn’t pretty, but winning was most important.
