West County Falls In State Quarters 4-3 to Malden

(FRANKCLAY, Mo.) – The West County Bulldogs‘ baseball season drew to a close after the team fell to the Malden Green Wave 4-3 in eight innings in the Class 3 state quarterfinals Wednesday afternoon on KREI. After trailing 3-0 through four innings, the Bulldogs found one run in the fifth. Then in the sixth, West County’s Zach Francis delivered a big hit with the bases loaded.
That brought the game to extras, when Malden scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Bulldogs head coach John Simily credited the Green Wave on a hard fought game.
West County ends their season at 17-5.
