West County Girls Fall In State Semifinals

El Dorado Springs used a dominant first quarter to defeat West County 52-29 and advance to their second straight state title game. Eldo won the first quarter 20-4 thanks in part to both solid offense and defense from McKinli Mays.
Although West County hung around and began to find some momentum in the third quarter, a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Neely Schaaf gave Eldo a 19-point lead and effectively ended the game.
After the game, West County head coach Bobby Simily said his team improved in the second half but still came up short in several areas.
El Dorado Springs improves to 26-5 and will play in the state title game tomorrow at 4. West County falls to 24-6 and will conclude their season with the third place game tomorrow at noon.
