West County In Class 3 State Semifinals For First Time; Will Face South Shelby On J98

(Leadwood) For the first time in school history the West County Lady Bulldogs are heading to the state semifinals in Springfield. After beating Woodland 52-32 at the Farmington Civic Center last Saturday, Bulldogs coach Bobby Simily says he’s appreciated the community support throughout the season.

Simily told his team to appreciate what they accomplished and soak in the “congratulations” over the weekend, but just getting to Springfield won’t satisfy West County.

In order to get to the Class 3 State Championship game, the 7th-ranked Bulldogs will have to go through the 8th-ranked South Shleby Ladybirds on Thursday.

Simily wanted to go easy in practices this week to make sure his team is well-rested for their first state semifinal appearance.

The 24-4 Bulldogs and the 24-4 Ladybirds face off at JQH Arena in Springfield on Thursday. We’ll have the game on J98 with the Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show beginning at 11:45 Thursday morning.
