West County's Alivia Simily on Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(Frankclay) West County High School doesn’t have a track, but after this weekend they could very well have a state track champion. Bulldog senior Alivia Simily is our Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week after a fantastic showing at the sectional meet. Simily won the triple jump with a leap of 35 feet and 4.5 inches. She took second in both the long jump and the high jump with a distance of 17 feet 4 inches and a height of 4 feet and 11 inches. Simily says West County’s six member track team comprised of four girls and two boys, has to go to Potosi to get their work in….

So is it sheer athleticism that has produced her results????

Simily actually took up high jump only a month ago…

She has set the bar high literally and figuratively for the end of the year…

Alivia will go to the St. Louis school of Pharmacy next year where she will play basketball and compete on the track and field team…
