West County's Bobby Simily Is Girls Basketball Dream Team Coach Of The Year

(Frankclay) Bobby Simily of the West County Lady Bulldogs is the 2022 Regional Radio Girls Basketball Coach of the Year. Simily led his team to their first ever state semifinal berth and a final record of 24-6.

The Lady Bulldogs played stellar basketball down the stretch winning 15 of 16 games leading up to the state semifinals. West County finished 4th in Class 3 after losing both games in Springfield, but Simily was still happy to be there.

Along with coaching girls basketball Simily is also the West County baseball coach and athletic director. Although basketball season has been over for a few weeks now, Simily can still feel the support from the community.

Everyone on the team played a part in getting to Springfield but two players who bare the same last name as their coach made this extra special for Simily.
