West County’s Hedgcorth Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(Frankclay) Alexis Hedgcorth averaged nearly a double double for a balanced attack as the West County Bulldog girls qualified for their second strait final four in Class Three. Alexis averaged 9 points and 8 rebounds in West County’s championship victories over St. Pius, Bishop Dubourg, and Portageville. She earns our Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week honor. Hedgcorth and her Bulldog teammates will play in the Class Three state semifinal Friday at 6:00 against defending state champion El Dorado Springs. Then they’ll play for either the championship or third place on Saturday. We’ll have the play by play on J-98.
