West County’s Whitter Discusses No-Hitter and Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week Selection

(Frankclay) It was a near-perfect outing when J.D. Whitter took to the mound for the West County Bulldogs on Thursday last week.

In the game against Crystal City, he tossed a five-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 mercy win, struck out 14 of the 15 batters he faced while allowing just two walks, and was named our Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.

Whitter says he actually had no idea he had thrown a no-hitter until well after the game was over.

Whitter says he was just locked in and never wavered.

Whitter now carries a (3-0) record across four starts with a 0.88 ERA and 42 strikeouts over 24 innings pitched.

As the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week, Whitter will receive a T-shirt, a certificate, and a coupon good for one free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
