(Park Hills) You’ve heard about TIF or Tax Increment Finance districts for years but what are they and what do they do exactly.

We asked Mark McFarland, the Park Hills city administrator, to give us an explanation on city TIF districts.

We asked McFarland if TIF districts are worth it.

McFarland says one TIF district in Park Hills is getting close to expiring.

Park Hills have three active TIF districts…the Highway 67 Corridor Development Project, the Parkway Interchange Redevelopment Project and the Downtown TIF Project.
