Wife of Poco Founder Who Passed Away This Year, Makes Large Donation for Steelville on Behalf of Late Husband

(Steelville) The City of Steelville received some great news at their city council meeting this week.

Musical group Poco was started up in the late 1960’s by co-founder Rusty Young.

Young had moved to Crawford County several years ago after he built a home in Davisville which is not far from Steelville.

Young passed away from a heart attack back in April.

Mayor Terry Beckham says Young’s wife attended this week’s council meeting and she decided to give back to the Steelville community.

In other news from the Steelville City Council meeting, an update was given on the new mountain bike park to be built on city-owned property.

In other news from the Steelville City Council meeting, two new business licenses were approved.

One is for the Steelville Trading Post, located at 215 South Third Street and the other is for The Fountain Emporium which is a bakery and it’s located at 105 East Main Street.
