Will a special legislative session happen?

(Jefferson City) There were several pieces of legislation that did not get voted through during the session in Jefferson City. Will there be a special session this summer? 115th District State Representative Cindy Buchheit-Courtway of Festus is hopeful there will be because she is wanting to reinstate the Presidential Preference Primary, which was removed a few years ago.

Buchheit-Courtway is hoping Governor Parson will indeed call for a special session.

Arnold State Representative Phil Amato of the 113th District believes a special session is unlikely.

House Bill 267 which included reinstating the Presidential Primary was defeated in a close vote on April 24th as it didn’t reach the required percentage to pass.
