(IMPERIAL) The Windsor Owls have a new Athletic Director and it is Ross Koenig.

Koenig was hired about a week ago to replace Tom Ludwig, who took a position in the Hillsboro School District. Koenig has deep roots in Jefferson County.

Koenig furthered his education shortly after receiving his undergraduate degree in Economics.

While at R-7, Koenig became the very first varsity baseball head coach while also having stints as a basketball and softball coach. Eventually, Koenig made his way to Windsor.

Before Koenig came to Windsor, Jason Gillman was hired to be the new boys basketball head coach after Todd Dutton retired. Koenig says that he’s pretty excited to begin developing that relationship and for that matter, relationships with all of the coaches. One guy he’s extremely thrilled about is Strength and Conditioning Coach, Ty Van Valkenburg.

Koenig has a message for parents in the Windsor community as he begins his new journey as an Owl.

The Windsor football Owls will kick off 2019 with a road game on August 30th against St. Pius. Volleyball will open up on the road in Park Hills on September 3rd, taking on the Central Rebels. Boys soccer, coming off of a district title last year, will kick off its 2019 on August 30th at Oakville. Softball will be at Sullivan on September 5th, girls tennis at home on August 30th against St. Charles West, and cross country at the Fleet Feet Classic on September 3rd.
