Windsor Graduate Receives Walter Williams Scholar Award
(Jefferson County) The Missouri School of Journalism recently announced the 80 recipients of this year’s Walter Williams Scholarship.
One of the 80 students selected across 20 different states was 2020 Windsor high school graduate and Valedictorian, Austin Williams.
Windsor high school Principal Jason Naucke says receiving the Walter Williams Scholars is a very prestigious honor.
Now in its 18th year, the Walter Williams Scholars program is the highest level of student distinction in the Missouri School of Journalism.
It is named for the School’s founding dean and accepts the highest-achieving freshmen by invitation only.
To qualify as a Walter Williams Scholar, students must have been in the top 20 percent of their high school class, have maintained a GPA of 3.25 or above and have earned exceptional scores on the ACT or SAT.
