Windsor Softball Looks to Stay in Championship Chase

(Imperial) The Windsor Owls are trying to continue their success on the softball diamond. Windsor won 17 games a season ago, their 11th straight season with double-digit victories. Owls head coach Wayne Montgomery says it was a year where Windsor proved itself against a talent-rich part of the state.

The Owls will lean on all-conference pitcher Riley Fendler. Along with a .423 batting average and a team-high 25 runs batted in, Fendler allowed just a 2.80 earned-run average in over 100 innings pitched. Montgomery says Fendler is only adding to her arsenal.

4 players return who hit better than .300 in 2021. An explosive offense paired with an ace pitcher is why Montgomery says his team can live up to the lofty goals he’s set for them.

Windsor began the 2022 softball season at the Sullivan Invitational.
