(IMPERIAL) The Battle of Imperial lived up to the hype Friday night on AM 1400 KJFF as the Windsor Owls prevailed 20-19 over the Seckman Jaguars in a frantic final few seconds.

In the first half at Seckman High, it was 6-6 with time expiring and Seckman at the Windsor 19. Quarterback Joe Stuckmeyer was able to improvise and score before the horn.

 
The score at the half was 13-6 in favor of the Jaguars. Seckman secured the first score of the 2nd half on a touchdown run by Luke Salsman from 21-yards out to go up 19-6. Then the Owls comeback began. Early in the 4th, Windsor quarterback Derek Williams found Mike Wolcott on a wheel route as the two connected for a 24-yard pass and catch. That pulled the Owls to within 19-14.

Inside of three minutes left in the game, Windsor took its first lead thanks to a short run by Derek Williams.

 
The failed 2-point conversion left the score 20-19 Owls. The Jaguars made a last-ditch effort, needing a field goal to win the game. They had a 2nd down and goal from the Windsor 8-yard line when frantic finish happened.

 
Windsor head coach Alex DeMatteis couldn’t have been more pleased with the effort and the result.

Seckman falls to 0-2 and will take on University City on the road next Saturday at 1 p.m. Windsor improves to 2-0, the first time the team has started out as such since 2007, and the Owls will be at DeSoto next Friday night at 7 on AM 1400 KJFF.
