(CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.) – The Windsor Owls volleyball team ended their season Saturday night with a fourth place finish in state, as they fell to St. Michael The Archangel in the third place match in two sets by a final of 25-22, 25-22 on J-98.

After a narrow loss is the first set, Windsor was able to build a three-point lead late in the second.

St. Michael however would finish on a 8-2 run, capped off by this point for the match.

Owls head coach Stephany Dueker-Richmond was happy with her team’s performance after a tough go in pool play Friday.

This was the first time in Windsor’s history that a girls sports team has made it this far.

Meanwhile in the Class 3 championship match, it was St. Francis Borgia taking home the state title in three sets over Logan-Rogersville.
