Windsor wallops 3 homers, downs DeSoto 16-7 on KJFF JeffCo Game of the Week

(DeSoto) The Windsor Owls had a monster day with the bats and earned a 16-7 win over the DeSoto Dragons in the Jefferson County Game of the Week on KJFF Thursday.

Leading just 4-3 after the first 2 innings, the Owls would blow it up open on the strength of a trio of long balls.

Piper Montgomery and Lacie Pruett combined for 5 hits and each finished with a home run and 3 RBI.

Payton Irwin also had a big day at the plate with 2 doubles and 5 runs scored, joining Montgomery and Pruett as the Applebee’s of Farmington Players of the Game.

Owls head coach Wayne Montgomery said his lineup is always confident, but they also rose to the occasion.

Windsor improves to 7-6 and will have its next home game Monday against Farmington.

DeSoto falls to 2-13 and will next take on St. Pius in Festus on Monday.
