Winter Storm and Coronavirus Bad Combo for MODOT

(Farmington) Some are calling it Snowmeggedon, Snowpocalypse, Snownami or even The Snowtorious B.I.G.

When you get all the nicknames out of the way, it is still expected to be a nice size winter storm to hit the area, which could bring us a considerable amount of ice, sleet and snow.

And if you travel Missouri’s highways and roadways, we could immediately see how the coronavirus becomes a factor in how quickly the roads become clear of ice, sleet and snow.

Patrick McKenna, the director of the Missouri Department of Transportation, has some concerns going in to this storm.

McKenna says MODOT is watching this storm closely.

Winter precipitation is expected to begin within the next 24 hours throughout the Regional Radio Listening Area.
