(FARMINGTON, Mo.) – A St. Francois County woman has been charged after allegedly stealing from a Walmart and then leading the police on a chase on Christmas Eve.

The Daily Journal reports that 21-year old Ricquanda Robinson of Farmington is being charged with resisting arrest by fleeing, leaving the scene of an accident, stealing, and a number of traffic violations after the incident last Tuesday.

At first, an officer was sent to the Farmington Walmart after reports of a woman stealing a pair of shoes from the store.

The officer located the woman in the parking lot in a vehicle and activated her emergency lights.

This prompted Robinson to speed off which marked the beginning of the chase.

Robinson topped out around 65 miles per hour during the pursuit, before crashing into a parked vehicle in the Lowe’s parking lot.

She attempted to escape on foot after crashing, but was apprehended by the officer.

The stolen items were found in Robinson’s vehicle, and a green leafy substance plus other drug paraphernalia were also located.

Robinson was taken to the St. Francois County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
