The Mineral Area College women’s basketball team throttled State Fair 83-57 at Poplar Bluff to improve to 8-3 on the season. The Cardinals are playing an extra regular season rotation against the other Region 16 teams. The games are being contested during shootouts and so far MAC is 4-0 in those games. State Fair scored the first five points of the game, but MAC quickly responded with 15-1 run and then closed the first half on a 10-1 run to lead 34-18 at the half. It’s the second straight game in which MAC held the opposition to under 20 points in the first half. In the second half the Cardinals utilized their full depth. In fact, the bench outscored the starters by a point. Jada Manase, Shanti Henery and Georgia Sideri combined to go 9 for 16 from beyond the arc….

Masyn McWilliams once again led the team in scoring with 15.
Assistant coach Briley Palmer says it was great to see the bench performing well, particularly as the Cardinals are playing three games in three days…

The Cardinals will finish the extra rotation of games against Region teams Sunday as they will play Crowder at 1:00 at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff.

We’ll be on the air at 12:45 with the Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show.
