XFL Purchased by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and RedBird Capital

(St. Louis, Mo.) St. Louis Battlehawks fans rejoice, the XFL is back!

On Monday it was announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, along with RedBird Capital as a partner, purchased the XFL for 15 million dollars just hours before a planned bankruptcy auction was scheduled to begin.

The XFL filed for bankruptcy in April after the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the cancellation of its inaugural season.

What this means for the future of the league and when we can expect the XFL to return to the gridiron is still to be determined.

The St. Louis Battlehawks garnered the most interest of any team around the league during the 2020 season, averaging over 28,000 fans in attendance at the two games played at The Dome.
