Central Track’s Avery Johnson is Athlete of the Week
(PARK HILLS) Avery Johnson of the Central Rebels track team is this week’s Regional Radio/Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. At the Old Settlement Meet last week, Johnson won the 100 meter high hurdles and was the lead-off leg of both the 400 meter and 800 meter relay, which Central won. She has been running track since middle school, and says that a lot of practice has helped her find success.

Johnson says her relay teammates have helped her become a great athlete.

Central track coach Scott Ragland shares what Johnson means to the team.

In addition to the wins in Ste. Genevieve, Johnson won the 100 meter high hurdles at the North County Raider Relays and Rebel relays this season. She’s an all-conference runner in the event. For being named Athlete of the Week, Avery Johnson will receive a t-shirt, certificate, and a voucher for a free entrée from Applebee’s of Farmington.
