The Class “C” Assembly Operator is responsible for insuring that product is trimmed, assembled and packaged properly. Class “C” Assembly Operator should review and follow all BOMs, work instructions, CD sheets and/or routing provided to perform duties and insure a quality part is produced.. The Class “C” Assembly Operator will perform all duties as assigned during his/her shift as directed by the supervisor. The Class “C” Assembly Operator must lead by example in the areas of Safety, Quality, Attendance, Attitude, and Flexibility in the job.
Must meet all requirements of the Class “C” Assembly Operator
Must have worked in production for a minimum of 3 months
Duties and Responsibilities:
Has met all the initial orientation requirements
o Required OJT
o Assembly Training (Defect Recognition, Recording, Tool Usage)
o Band Saw Training
o Safety Training
o Other as required
Maintain a safe working environment.
Consistently leads by example and acts as a team player
Has a general working knowledge of product
Knowledge of work instruction, CDS and BOM requirements
Complete First Piece Inspection paperwork accurately
Understands Forte’ Product Solutions Product Acceptance Criteria
Can distinguish between each tool and its usage
Recognizes the different types of defects
Properly records defects
Communicates with operators, lead and supervisors of any issues regarding quality
And other duties as directed by Supervisor
Must meet or exceed established requirements/job performance duties
Must be able to effectively and courteously work with others
Excellent Safety record
Excellent attendance record
Must be able to work successfully with minimal supervision
Knowledge of 5S requirements
Maintain safe, clean and organized work area
Physical Requirements for Machine Operator / Assembly / Warehouse
Standing – 95% - The employee is required to remain on his or her feet in a n upright
position for continuous periods of time without being able to leave the work area
Sitting – less than 5%
Climbing – The employee is required to climb stairs
Walking – 20% - The employee is required to walk short distances in the facility during the course of his or her work
Lifting – 50% - The employee is required to raise or lower objects from one level to another regularly during the shift up to 50 lbs.
Pulling and/or Pushing – up to 30 lbs. – The job requires pulling force up to 30 lbs.
Carrying – up to 20 lbs. – The employee is required, on a regular basis, to carry objects in his or her arms or on the shoulder(s).
Grasping – 75% - The job requires that the employee regularly pick up objects with fingers.
Reaching – 50% - The employee is regularly required to use the hands and arms to reach for objects.
Stooping & Crouching – 5% - The employee is regularly required to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
