Daylight Savings Time is a Good Time to Check Smoke Alarms
Clocks are set to fall back an hour in November. According to Farmington Fire Chief Kyle Carter, the time change is a good time to check the safety equipent in your home.

It is recommended that smoke alarms are changed every ten years. Many of them have a test button to check the lifespan of the detector.
Carter lists places in your home where smoke detectors should be placed.

If you need to replace your smoke detectors, they are affordable. Alarms range from $8 to $20 depending on their lifespan.
