Farmington Baseball to face Central in MAAA Tournament Championship
(PARK HILLS) The MAAA Baseball Tournament wraps up Saturday as the Central Rebels face the Farmington Knights for the conference title. The Rebels were seeded fourth in the tournament but defeated 5-seed West County Tuesday and upset 1-seed Valle Catholic on the road Thursday to advance to the final. Central’s win over the Warriors began with a rally in the 6th and finished with pitcher Casen Murphy throwing key strikes to seal the win. after the game, Murphy said his team has grown its confidence.

The Rebels will take on 6-seed Farmington, who 10-ran North County in a downpour Thursday evening. The Knights have gained momentum during their current 5-game win streak, with notable victories over Ste. Genevieve and Valle Catholic. Knights manager Logan Winder says the Rebels are a quality opponent.

The Knights will get a rematch with the Rebels in the MAAA Baseball Tournament Championship, where they’ll have the chance to avenge their 3-0 loss from their first meeting in April. First pitch between Farmington and Central is set for 3:00 Saturday afternoon at North County in Bonne Terre. We’ll broadcast the game on AM-800 KREI.
