Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office making the change to 9mm side arms

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is making a change to their side arms. A study conducted by the FBI ten years ago determined that the 9-millimeter round was found to be superior when compared to a 40-caliber round bullet. Sheriff Dave Marshak says the study was very informative and they are making the change now.

Sheriff Marshak says they would have made the change years ago, however, the timing did not match up.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is currently in the process of switching out their Glock 40-caliber firearms for Glock 9-millimeter handguns. The process to replace all of their firearms should be completed near the end of November.
