Jefferson Football Faces Ste. Genevieve Friday Night
The Jefferson Blue Jays football team remains undefeated this season following a 26-12 win over Grandview last week, and will travel to Ste. Genevieve to face the Dragons Friday night. Ste. Genevieve is coming off their second straight defeat, a 31-0 thumping from cross-town rival Valle Catholic. It’s also homecoming week, so the Dragons have been forced to adapt to a different practice schedule and the festivities throughout the week.
On top of all that, the Dragons still have to play football and execute their game plan against a loaded Blue Jay offense. Ste. Genevieve head coach Jay Pope explains why the Blue Jays are a challenging opponent.

Jefferson head coach Matt Atley recognizes that the Dragons have talent too, which he saw on display during a shootout loss to Ste. Genevieve last season.

Jefferson has been without some key pieces as of late. Wide receiver Nate Breeze and running back Karsen Haefner have both missed time over the last few weeks, but are expected to play this week. Pope says the Dragons defense has to account for them both if they’re able to go.

The Ste. Genevieve Dragons host the Jefferson Blue Jays Friday night at 7. Zach Thomas and Jake Whitener will bring you the call of that game on J-98 the Boot.
