Jefferson Football To Build Around Strong senior Class; New Offensive Line

The Jefferson Blue Jays finished 5-5 last season following a strong end to the campaign. They graduated 11 seniors, including the entire starting offensive line. Coach Matt Atley is looking for a new group to support the returners at the skill positions. The new guys are smaller than the previous unit, but their lack of size has it advantages.

The returning group, particularly the seniors, are very tight knit. Coach Atley wants to emphasize the need for every member of the team to be involved.

Blue Jay football is about effort, unity, and pride. This year, the process is also a point of emphasis.

To persist in the process, the team needs to embrace what it is building. It will have to blend the old with the new. The process of rebuilding a team every season is a challenge, but coach Atley knows his group is on is way to completion.

The Blue Jays will participate in the Sullivan Jamboree on August 18th, and open the regular season at home against Fredericktown on Friday, August 25th. You can listen to that game on J98 The Boot.
