Ste. Genevieve Boys Basketball Survives North County, 58-51
(Ste. Genevieve) The Ste. Genevieve Dragons boys basketball team won their first conference game of the year as they defeated North County 58-51 Friday night. A big second quarter for the Dragons helped them gain early separation. The Raiders, however, continued to scrap, as they cut the lead to three late in the third quarter.

Ste. Genevieve held on thanks to Alex Basler delivering on critical free throws and a second half explosion from Devin Flye.

Devin Flye led the Dragons in scoring with 14 points. Zach Henderson finished with 11, and both Jon Merklin and Alex Basler had nine. North County’s Blayine Kennon led all scorers with 18. He fouled out early in the fourth quarter.
The Dragons survived the game, but coach Rob Coleman says it was too close for comfort.

Ste. Genevieve improves to 5-8 on the year. North County drops their fifth straight as they fall to 1-9.
