#4 Central Lady Rebels Hold Off #6 West County, 49-38, On KREI

(Park Hills) The Central Lady Rebels (#4 in Class 4) held off West County (#6 in Class 3) to win their 10th game of the season Thursday night. Central won 48-39.

West County scored the first points of the game but Central led 11-8 after the first quarter and went into halftime with a 23-20 lead over the Bulldogs.

West County used a strong third quarter to re-take the lead, 34-33, heading into the final frame.

Lilly James kept the hot hand for West County to start the fourth quarter…

But the Rebels outscored the Bulldogs 10-2 from that point on…

Central’s Kinley Norris scored 12 points, Halle Richardson scored 11 points and Khloe Dischbein scored 10 points.

Central coach Josh Mapes gave praise to the Bulldogs for a difficult challenge…

Morgan Simily scored 11 points for West County, Lilly James had 9 points and Alexis Hedgcorth grabbed 11 rebounds.

Central improves to 10-2 and will host Saxony Lutheran on Monday. West County moves to 11-2 and will open conference play versus Valle Catholic next Thursday.
