Ste. Genevieve teenager injured on Highway A in Jefferson County

A Ste. Genevieve teenager was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway A at Old Highway A on Saturday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 43-year-old Ryan Bietchert of Cedar Hill was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 eastbound in a designated left turn lane and failed to yield to an oncoming 2010 Toyota Tundra driven by 18-year-old Brendon P Corbett of Ste. Genevieve. Bietchert’s vehicle then spun out, while Corbett’s truck traveled off the north side of Route A and struck multiple trees. Corbett was not wearing a seatbelt and was airlifted to St. Louis Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. The accident took place at 12:15 on Saturday afternoon.
