41-year-old woman shot and killed in Festus

(Festus) A shooting in Festus on Friday night has left a 41-year-old woman dead. Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis says officers responded to 400 South 5th Street at around 11:30 that night.

The 40-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by the 41-year-old and claimed self-defense. Chief Lewis says they are still investigating the case.

The names of those involved have not been released at this time.
