(HILLSBORO, Mo.) The 62nd annual Gene Steighorst Boys basketball tournament is set to begin Monday night at Hillsboro High School with two games in the first round of the bracket.

Night one will feature the fourth seeded Festus Tigers and the fifth seeded DeSoto Dragons, while the number one seeded Hillsboro Hawks will host the eighth seeded Seckman Jaguars. The tournament will get going with Festus and DeSoto beginning play.

The two teams met three times last season with DeSoto winning two out of the three battles, including knocking them out of the district playoffs.
