A Kids Introduction to Golf at Viburnum Course Tuesday

(Viburnum) Kids if your looking to get out of the house this summer, operators of the Viburnum Golf and Country Club will have a special event just for you on Tuesday afternoon.

Lance Mayfield says they will host a youth golf forum which is a great way to get your first initiation into the sport.

Mayfield says the extreme heat is taking it’s toll on parts of the course but he also says it’s a wonderful place for those in the Viburnum area, and even visitors from St. Francois, Washington, Reynolds or other nearby counties, to get in 9 or 18 holes at a very affordable cost.

The Kids Youth Golf Forum, which should last around an hour, begins Tuesday afternoon at 1 at the Viburnum Golf and Country Club which is located just a couple miles out of town off ‘Y’ Highway.

The club first opened in 1974.

The golf course was carved through the forest, so there are many trees lining the fairways with some sketchy, challenging areas that can alter your shots, along with ponds coming into play a few times.

The fairways are hilly and the greens are elevated.

The 9-hole par-36 course plays a maximum distance of 3,226 yards.
