Annapolis Man Facing Murder in Iron County will have Trial Setting in June

(Ironton) An Iron County man, accused of shooting and killing another man in Iron County, will have his trial setting next month.

21-year-old McCoy Kelley of Annapolis will find out when his murder trial will be on June 16th.

Kelley allegedly killed 30-year-old William “Billy” Shy at his home off Highway 49 in Vulcan back in early August of 2020.

A news release from the Iron County Sheriff’s Department said deputies found Shy dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Witnesses say Kelley knocked on Shy’s door…Shy opened the front door and that’s when Kelley allegedly shot at Shy several times, killing him.

Kelley eventually turned himself into the sheriff’s department after being on the run for a few days after the murder.

Kelley faces first-degree murder and armed criminal action charges.
